By donating to moving Waters, you become an integral part of our initiative, bringing hope and positive change to individuals in need. One wonderful way to donate is through a hygiene drive.

Hygiene drives are a great way to support our mission and provide us with the supplies to keep our showers running and our guests comfortable. A typical hygiene kit that guests receive includes:

Give a Gift

  •          Gallon Ziplock Bag

  •          Bar soap

  •          Hand sanitizer

  •          Toothbrush

  •          Toothpaste

  •          Comb

  •          Deodorant

  •          Socks

  •          Underwear

  •          Feminine hygiene products

  •          Some types of hard candy: Butterscotch, LifeSavers, etc.

Volunteer Guidelines

  • Greet and welcome our guests warmly upon arrival.

  • Always ask our guests their names and introduce yourself with a smile.

  • Take time to connect with each guest; your authentic and compassionate attention represents the unexpected level of care that helps restore their dignity.

  • Wear something you do not mind getting mildly wet, including closed-toe shoes.

  • Look at the weather the day you are volunteering and dress accordingly.

  • Your health and safety are important to us. Feel free to take breaks and inform our staff if you find yourself feeling uncomfortable.

Volunteer Disclaimer

While Moving Waters strives to define the roles of our volunteers to the best of our ability, we often find ourselves engaged in the beautiful mess of life in real-time. Situations and circumstances can necessitate adapting to changes on not only a weekly but hourly basis. Please know that while you may sign up for a specific task, the environment of a given day may necessitate you being called on to help in another area. We ask for your patience and understanding should this occur. We hope you find your volunteer experience with Moving Waters richly rewarding and will consider returning.
